It’s been fantastic meeting online these past 6 months since our classes went digital due to the current situation in the world.   I’m thrilled to hear so much positive feedback. Who would have thought that meeting up to meditate from home would be quite so fun. Intrigued? Here’s what you need to know….

🌹 How do I know what to pay?

The cost of an hour long drop in class is £10.00 and if you are unsure of what to pay, please pay £10.00. I put the class on a sliding scale so that you can pay less if you only want to join for half of the class. I also want to accommodate those in financial hardship. This way, those that need to do so can pay a little less, and those that are in a position to give a little more, pay a little more if they want to.

🌹 My approach and what happens in my classes?

I have a unique way of teaching meditation that’s both simple and fun and I’ve developed a philosophy for wellbeing that draws on a broad range of influences from poetry and nature, to psychology, philosophy and cooking. This broad, non religious approach to meditation means that at the classes we don’t follow any one school of thought exclusively (Ie: Transcendental, mindfulness, vipassana, vedanta) Instead we see meditation as inner peace and use the many approaches to it (which involve things like guided meditations, breathing, visualisations, focussing etc) as wonderful little shoe horns into that quite calm space.

I don’t have a formula for my classes as I adapt them to suit the class goers and they’re very much in the moment, but here’s a glance at how our classes have been going these past few weeks. (I’m open to special requests!)

🌹 Class outline

It’s an hours class, divided into two halves. The first half is gentle breathing, present moment awareness and mindfulness practices. Then we pause for a little 5 min refreshment break. The second half features guided meditations + a poem at the end for good measure. An hour can be a long time for some of us to sit and listen, so please do feel welcome to join in for just the first half, or for as much or little as you like. The fees for the class are on a sliding scale, and you can adapt what you pay to how long you wish to attend the class for.

🌹 How do you participate?

It’s a live class delivered through the free app Zoom. Once you book a place at my website you’ll be added to the class list. On the morning of the class I will email you a link and password to join in. During the class you’ll be able to see and hear me on screen, live at my house or studio, teaching the class. How exciting!

You can choose to have your video switched on if you’d like to wave and say hi and be seen, but you can also join silently with your camera and audio off, simply watching and listening. At the end of the class there is usually a 5 minute opportunity to share any comments, questions or observations you may or may not have. It’s a lovely moment. So precious in these times where so many of us are being asked to be less sociable.

🌹What should I wear / where should I sit?

Wear what you feel comfy in and join the class either sitting upright chair, sat cross legged on a floor pillow, or laying down somewhere comfortable. It’s lovely to be somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed. So do let those you live with know that you’d like a little peace and quiet, and switch your phone to silent mode. In reality, all sorts can happen when you’re on a mediations Zoom. Deliveries arriving, Jones ringing, chidden, puppies leaping and neighbours calling round.  All of that is fine too. We will learn to tune out any distractions or sounds and make the most of the class whatever environment your joining from.
